X-2008 - 24-26 October 2008 - Hengelo (Gld.) The Netherlands
Introduction
Welcome to the X-2008 site fellow sceners!
13 years of X parties, 10 years at the farm, the 9th X in total and still going strong. Who would've thought.
The biannual c64-only event in rural Netherlands has been one of its kind in 8-bit partyland. Not only do you
get brilliant demo/graphics/music competitions, but you also get a nice bed, hot showers, proper food, breakfast and all
the beer, soft drinks, tea and coffee you can drink.
For the competitions and performances you can count on a highquality big screen and audio equipment to keep
the cows awake.
All you need to do is
register, show up, bring your c64-gear, compo
entries and party the night away. Extra points for sid dancing!
Registrations
For some odd reason, the X party has been getting bigger and bigger over the years, so we are getting close
to full capacity. We can not stress enough how important it is to
register as soon as possible. It is the only way to be
sure you'll have a bed reserved and won't be refused at the door.
Performances
On top of that, we also have a real live performance scheduled. At
X-2006
Jeroen Tel rocked us all immensely, so for this episode we are very proud to announce another fabulous dutch composer to stun us all.
The winner of the
sidcompo of X-98, musician of Last Ninja 3, Dutch Breeze and many other games and demos:
Reyn has been practicing a lot already on his highly acclaimed
Slayradio show
Sunday Service, but now you will be able to see and hear him
perform live on synths, drums, guitars, loopers and what not at X-2008!
Changes since last X
The party formula behind the X party is one we would always like to improve upon. The following lessons were learnt in 2006:
First of all, we will review compovoting, so stay tuned for additional information on that.
Second,
we will not accept email entries for the music competition. However we will accept demo and gfx entries via email.
Only composers attending X-2008 will be able to join the music compo. We had 26 tunes last time (and even more if people handed in their
entries on time) and the limit has been reached. Not to mention the composers not attending, are the ones with the biggest complaints afterwards.
